Mrs. Marla Merkley

Hi there, I am Marla Merkley and this is my first year at Maryview. I have over eight years of experience working with pre k, kindergarten and grade one. This is my third year with Red Deer Catholic. My husband Graham Backen is a dual ticketed Electrician/ Instrument Technician. My two oldest children, Isaac and Ava graduated from Notre Dame, and my youngest Harper is starting grade 10 there this fall. I have my EA diploma from Red Deer Polytechnic as well as being a certified yoga instructor for children. I am looking forward to being back in a small school environment where children can learn and flourish with faith.
