Mrs. Melanie Homan
Pre-Kindergarten
My name is Melanie Homan and I am one of the Pre-K teachers at Maryview.
I grew up in Canmore, Alberta and upon graduating from high school I moved to Red Deer to attend RDC. I received my Early Childhood Development Diploma before moving on to further my education. In 2000, I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Elementary Education. I have taught kindergarten and grade two and most recently I have been teaching Pre-K for the past 10 years at Camille J Lerouge. This year I transferred to Maryview School.
My husband and I have three children. Our oldest daughter Nicole is attending RDC in the secondary education program, as well, she plays for the Queens curling team. Our son Owen is in grade 11 and enjoys mountain biking and skiing. Our youngest daughter Megan is in grade 8 and has a passion for drama and volleyball. We are an active family who loves the outdoors and we can be found on the ski hills in the winter, and camping, biking and hiking in the summer. I love to garden as we have a large vegetable garden in our yard!
I am blessed to be working in the lovely little community of Maryview and look forward to getting to know all of you. God Bless.
