Kindergarten

My name is Lordana Santos and I’m one of the Pre-Kindergarten teachers of Maryview School’s Pre-K South Hub.

Being born and raised in the Philippines, I finished my Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Education with a major in Mathematics in Pampanga, the province I came from. I immediately started teaching after graduation and gained 4 years of teaching experiences in all levels, mostly high school Mathematics. When we moved here in Canada in November of 2010, I had worked in the childcare field, both as a provider and a Program Director for 8 years. There I fell in love with the joy and genuine love that tiny humans bring. Feeling the need to go back to my passion, I decided to complete the Internationally Educated Teachers’ Bridging Program at the University of Alberta in 2019 and here I am now - spending everyday doing what is closest to my heart.

I’m blessed to be married for 12 years and have a wonderful family. My husband Lowell works as an operator for a dairy company here in Red Deer, and God entrusted us to have 3 beautiful children. Our first born son Yohann is in Grade 6 at St. Thomas, our daughter Alekx in Grade 3 and our youngest son Psalmer in Grade 1 are both here in our beautiful school community of Maryview.

All shades of blue capture my eyes very easily and I love all kinds of things sweet and salty. I’m also a huge fan of ramen and giant burgers! I always look forward to long scenic drives as long as I’m comfortably seated on the passenger seat and enjoying car karaoke while micromanaging my husband’s driving skills.

My favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

Being employed by a division that honors and acknowledges my faith is such a wonderful blessing coupled by being a part of the incredible Maryview family!
