Miss Sarah Koopmans

My name is Sarah Koopmans, and I am thrilled to be the Grade 4 teacher here at Maryview School! I can’t wait to meet all the students and become a part of this welcoming school community. I grew up in Red Deer, where I attended school and graduated. I completed my education at Red Deer College's Middle Years Program through the University of Alberta, earning a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education with a focus on Middle Years. Over the past few years, I have taught Grade 4 at St. Teresa of Avila within Red Deer Catholic and am excited to embark on this new journey at Maryview. Teaching has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and it brings me immense joy to witness the growth, learning, and unique God-given talents of each student in my class. I have a deep love for sports, especially hockey, and enjoy participating in various activities throughout the year. In the summer, I love to travel and soak up the warm weather. I feel incredibly fortunate to join a school with such a close-knit community and can't wait to start this school year!
